GROUP'99 - Hotel and Venue
Conference Hotel is the Embassy Suites Hotel in North Pheonix, AZ. The hotel provides a huge pool, spa, tennis courts, etc. They host free happy hours every day between 5pm and 7pm on the terrace just outside the conference rooms.
The hotel offers a special GROUP'97 conference rate for $89/night (an EXCEPTIONAL price), plus taxes. This includes a free, complete US buffet breakfast and free drinks every evening. The special rate will expire shortly after the early registration deadline. The hotel is 20 minutes drive from Sky Harbor Airport (if you rent a car), or 20 minutes using Super Shuttle ($17 for one person, +$6 for every additional person going to the hotel).
Please make your bookings directly with the hotel (800.527.7715) and mention the GROUP conference for the discount. I have also been informed that sometimes the desk staff cannot find the GROUP conference in their database, so please either mention the ACM, or fax your reservation to DEANNA at 602.993.5963. The reservations manager informs me that in the US, all reservations must be "held" with a credit card, so please include a credit card number on your fax. Otherwise they may have to fax you back to get it; this will take longer and be more hassle.
